The franchisee is proud to announce that Scott Harrison, Regional Vice President for the company’s Southern Region, was recently appointed as Chairman-elect for Make-A-Wish® South Carolina’s Board of Directors.
“Scott Harrison has been – and continues to be – a gifted and valued leader for Make-A-Wish® South Carolina. His passion for the mission and his productivity in fundraising make him an ideal person to chair our board in fiscal year 2016-17 and beyond,” said Bill Tiller, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® South Carolina. “He is respected by his peers and is beloved by the staff. I’m grateful for his service and I look forward to working with Scott to move our chapter forward in meaningful and strategic ways.”
When the South Carolina Applebee’s chose Make-A-Wish® South Carolina as their charity of choice, Harrison embraced the organization and worked to develop a long-lasting relationship. Twelve years later, the relationship between Applebee’s and Make-A-Wish® South Carolina continues to flourish. From the Wish Card Fundraiser to the Chip In For Wishes Golf Tournament, Applebee’s South Carolina has been instrumental in granting dozens of wishes in the past year and has granted many more in the lifetime of the partnership.
“At Apple Gold Group we believe it is important to give back to our communities,” said Michael Olander, President and CEO of Apple Gold Group. “We are proud to have a member of our executive team join the Make-A-Wish board.”
After one year of serving as Treasurer for the Board of Directors, Harrison will assume the role Chairman of the Board in the coming year. As Chair, he will be responsible for the organization’s health and well-being while managing a commitment to stakeholders to facilitate the work of the board in a context of effective leadership and governance.
