The Apple Gold Group, a franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, is proud to have helped the Transport Workers Union of America and the Blue Star Mothers of America raise over $2,300 at a recent Flapjack Fundraiser. Proceeds raised will go towards the Wounded Warrior Ministry. "Congratulations to the Transport Workers Union of America and Blue Star Mothers for a successful event," said Michael Olander, President and CEO of the Apple Gold Group. "Applebee’s would like to thank both organizations for their efforts in making the fundraiser a great event, as well as those who came out to support the Wounded Warrior Ministry." The Transport Workers Union of America and the Blue Star Mothers fundraiser was hosted on July 7, 2012, at the Applebee’s restaurant located at 9039 N. 121st E. Ave., Owasso, OK. The organization sold 300 tickets and an additional $369 in donations was collected. Breakfast included a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee. Applebee’s is proud to partner with any local non-profit organization as a way to raise money for their cause. From ticket sales to event-day staff, the breakfasts are managed by the non-profit organization with the assistance of Applebee’s employee volunteers. Breakfasts can be held on Saturday or Sunday morning, and cost the organization around $2 a meal. The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraisers represent the restaurant chain’s latest efforts to remain active within its local neighborhood.
