The Apple Gold Group, a franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, is proud to have helped the Triad Community Helpers raise over $1,200 at a recent Flapjack Fundraiser. Proceeds raised will benefit the family of Lisa Warren, a local resident who recently lost her life to cancer. "It is great to see members of a community come together in support of a family in need, especially one that has recently lost a loved one to cancer," said Michael Olander, President and CEO of the Apple Gold Group. "We want to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who attended the fundraiser and wish the Warren family the best of luck." The Triad Community Helpers fundraiser was hosted on June 23, 2012, at the Applebee’s restaurant located at 71 Plaza Pkwy., Lexington, NC. The organization sold 200 tickets and an additional $50 in donations was collected. Breakfast included a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee. Applebee’s is proud to partner with any local non-profit organization as a way to raise money for their cause. From ticket sales to event-day staff, the breakfasts are managed by the non-profit organization with the assistance of Applebee’s employee volunteers. Breakfasts can be held on Saturday or Sunday morning, and cost the organization around $2 a meal. The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraisers represent the restaurant chain’s latest efforts to remain active within its local neighborhood.
