The Apple Gold Group, franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bars in North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is proud to have helped the Durant Road Elementary First Grade Class raise over $1,500 at a recent Flapjack Fundraiser. All proceeds raised will go towards the grade’s end of year field trip.
"End of the year field trips are always the highlights of the school year for students, regardless of whether it was in elementary school or high school," said Michael Olander, President and CEO of the Apple Gold Group. "We are excited to have made this trip for the Durant Road Elementary First Grade more fiscally possible and hope the students have a wonderful time."
The Durant Road Elementary First Grade fundraiser was hosted on February 11, 2012, by the Applebee’s restaurant located at 7831 Target Circle, Raleigh, NC. The organization sold 198 tickets and an additional $512 in donations was collected. Breakfast included a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee.
Applebee’s is proud to partner with any local non-profit organization as a way to raise money for their cause. From ticket sales to event-day staff, the breakfasts are managed by the non-profit organization with the assistance of Applebee’s employee volunteers. Breakfasts can be held on Saturday or Sunday morning, and cost the organization around $2 a meal. The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraisers represent the restaurant chain’s latest efforts to remain active within its local neighborhood.
