The Apple Gold Group, franchisee of Applebee’s restaurants in North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is proud to have helped the United States Equine Rescue League (USERL) raise over $1,200 in just three hours at a recent Flapjack Fundraiser. All proceeds raised will help provide medical assistance and food to neglected horses in the community.

"The community, volunteers and Applebee’s employees did an incredible job of coming together to host a successful event," said Michael Olander, President and CEO of the Apple Gold Group. "We are excited that this Flapjack Fundraiser will help these neglected animals and provide them with the proper medical attention that is needed."

The USERL Flapjack Fundraiser was hosted on May 22, 2010 by the Applebee’s restaurant located on 11805 Retail Dr., Wake Forest, NC. The group sold over 150 tickets and an additional $413 in donations was raised. Breakfast included a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee.

Applebee’s is proud to partner with any local non-profit organization as a way to raise money for their cause. From ticket sales to event-day staff, the breakfasts are managed by the non-profit organization with the assistance of Applebee’s employee volunteers. Breakfasts can be held on any Saturday or Sunday morning, and cost the organization around $2 a meal. The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraisers represent the restaurant chain’s latest efforts to remain active within its local neighborhood.
